Overview :

BACKGROUND

The United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) is the leading UN agency in the Solomon Islands, on the ground since 1999, has earned a reputation as a trustworthy development partner in the collective effort of supporting the Solomon Islands in achieving the objectives of the National Development Strategy and the Sustainable Development Goals. UNDP Solomon Islands works with people and their governments to address the country's various development challenges.

UNDP supports the Government of Solomon Islands in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and sustaining its growth trajectory by modernizing institutions, reducing inequalities, digitally transforming communities, combating climate change, and sustainably managing natural resources.

UNDP is seeking a video production/post-production editor(s) to support its video production on a series of projects. The video products will highlight UNDP’s work on poverty reduction, women’s empowerment, crisis response, and protecting the environment. UNDP collaborates with many partners including governments, civil society groups, NGOs, and other UN agencies.

Under the supervision of the UNDP Communication Team, the Video production/post-production editor(s) will work on various aspects of video production for several projects.

The contractor is expected to film and i) produce videos on various topics, including but not limited to transparency and accountability, peacebuilding, climate security, and small grants initiatives on farming, beekeeping, and strengthening livelihoods; and ii) based on video materials received, produce a documentary on raising awareness on the Outstanding Women initiative to promote women’s empowerment;

To produce video stories, the contractor will have to travel to provinces to film some of the projects on the ground. The contractor will have to organize travels to Western, East Rennell, Isabel, and Guadacanal Provinces.
