The Flight Operations Unit (ParkAir) is a part of NPWS is part of the Office of Environment & Heritage, within the Department of Planning and Environment Cluster. ParkAir has the primary function of supporting internal field operations in fire and incident management and specialised field operations such as aerial feral animal control, pest species management and winching or sling load work.
Currently ParkAir own and dry hire several aircrafts. The leases for two of the helicopters that are required to meet demand including current contracts are expiring. ParkAir seeks to enter into 2 new Dry Hire Agreements for 2 light helicopters with one or more Supplier with the aim to:
• Maximise efficiency and effectiveness of the aviation activities undertaken by ParkAir and meet safety requirements
• Increase the agency’s flexibility and versatility to meet changing operational needs as demand for aviation services continue to grow and evolve (based on Aviation Service Demand Analysis (ASDA) report)
• Standardise the fleet operated by ParkAir to H125B3e Squirrels
• Improve operational efficiency and effectiveness and increase the agency's emergency response capability
• Guarantee at least 500 flight hours per leased aircraft, per annum.
