The Houses of the Oireachtas Commission (“the Contracting Authority”) requires suppliers to provide daily delivery of fresh fruit and vegetables (including prepared fruit and vegetables) to the Houses of the Oireachtas Catering Facilities for use in its restaurants and catering outlets throughout the year.
The Contracting Authority is responsible for the running of the Houses of the Oireachtas, or Irish Parliament, (Dáil Éireann, Seanad Éireann and Oireachtas Committees), and acts as governing body of the Office of the Houses of the Oireachtas Service (“the Service”) (further information is available at www.oireachtas.ie).
The Houses of the Oireachtas Catering Facilities consist of a Table Service Restaurant (‘the Members’ Restaurant’), a self-service restaurant, a coffee dock and two bars (Members and visitors). These facilities fall within the overall responsibility of Members Services (Catering) in the Houses of the Oireachtas Service and are operated by the Catering Manager (‘the Manager’) and the Bar Manager.
All Goods must be fit for purpose and of a quality acceptable to the Contracting Authority and must be supplied in accordance with the product specifications set out in the Tender and must, at a minimum, meet or exceed the specifications in Appendix 1 of the RFT and the additional specifications if detailed in Appendix 2A Pricing Schedule. All Goods must be packed and delivered in such a way as to minimise bruising; all products specified shall be of a quality that is NOT inferior to similar products available for purchase in retail outlets.
