Request for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Selection of Individual Consultants

This Expression of Interest (EOI) is invited from the interested candidates for filling up position of the Project Implementation Unit of the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (PIU-BARC). The detailed information may be obtained from website: www.natpbarc.gov.bd or www.barc.gov.bd and at the address of the undersigned during the office hours. Information may also be available in the website: www.cptu.gov.bd. The soft copy of TOR, application form and CV form may also be obtained from the office of the undersigned during office hours on all working days.

Duration of the consultancy service will be 16 (Sixteen) months or upto project period which one is earlier.

Qualification and Experiences:

a. Academic:

  1. Minimum Master Degree in any discipline of Agricultural science;
  2. Candidates having Ph.D degree may have an added advantage.

b. Experience:

  1. Minimum 15 years work experience in Agricultural Research and Research Management;
  2. Minimum 3 years work experience in donor/IDA funded/ development projects;
  3. Scientific publications are desirable;
  4. High level proficiency in report writing;
  5. Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  6. Computer literacy and skills (MS Word, Excel, and Power Point etc.) is essential.

Scope of Services /Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible to Director, PIU-BARC and procuring entity
  2. Preparation of detailed guidelines for operation and management of  PBRG;
  3. Monitoring the activities of PBRG research sub-projects;
  4. Preparation of periodic progress report on  PBRG activities;
  5. Preparation of quarterly and annual report;
  6. Any other tasks as assigned by the authority (Such as technology validation, review technology factsheet & PCR etc.).

Consultancy service will be renewed in every year on satisfactory annual performance of the consultant. Persons who are already in employment shall send application through proper channel, otherwise they shall not be considered for appointment.

The consultants for the above mentioned position will be selected following PPR 2008 and the method of Selection of Individual Consultant (SIC) of the World Bank Consultant Guidelines 2014. The job location is at BARC, Dhaka and work area will be all over the Bangladesh. Expression of Interest (one original and two copies along with a soft copy in sealed envelope and be clearly marked “Request for Expression of Interest” for selection of individual consultant with the name of the position along with documentary evidences to support the required criteria shall be submitted by the applicants to the Director, PIU-BARC, NATP-2, Farmgate, Dhaka-1215 on or before 15 February 2022 within 3:00 pm by mail or currier. Only short listed candidates will be called for interview. The authority reserves the rights to accept or reject any or all of the EOIs without showing any reason whatsoever.
