Description

UNICEF Zambia is seeking to contract an institution ,joint venture or association of institutions for consultancy to Identify and develop a framework for action for policy, programmes, and services for adolescent nutrition in Zambia - A formative study.

Location : National with a focus in 17 SUN-II supported districts (Chipata, Lundazi, Chienge, Chinsali, Isoka, Mpika, Chongwe, Lusaka, Mwinilunga, Solwezi, Zambezi, Choma, Monze, Kalabo, Kaoma, Mongu and Shangombo districts.

Purpose 

The purpose of the formative study is to:  

  1. Undertake s situation analysis of health and nutrition and associated factors of adolescents and young people including a literature review on existing studies on food and beverage consumption among adolescents in Zambia
  2. Undertake a landscape analysis of policies, programmes, and stakeholders on identifying the entry points for service delivery for in-school and out-of-school adolescents for prevention of all forms of malnutrition among adolescents
  3. Undertake a KAP Survey including an assessment of the food and social environment influencing adolescent health and nutrition status and their dietary practices, and the main channels of information and influence
  4. Identify actions to strengthen adolescent nutrition through the five systems (Health, Food, Social Protection, WASH and Education) that contribute to delivery of nutritious diets, essential nutrition services and positive nutrition practices for adolescents .
