ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW Assignment Title: 1277064- Sectoral impact assessment of marine litter on ecosystem services and socio-economic activities Assignment Countries:- Egypt, Arab Republic of ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION B. Objective 9. As part of the implementation of the above-mentioned project, the World Bank is seeking the services of consultants and/or a consulting team for Activity (1) to perform a Sectoral impact assessment of marine litter on ecosystem services and socio-economic activities. The assessment under this TOR should draw on evidence or studies from Egypt to the best extent possible and in its absence draw on similar contexts or shared resources (e.g. similar marine ecosystems in the Red Sea or Mediterranean). C. Scope of Work 10. The main tasks are detailed below: Task 1: Impact identification of plastics, marine ecosystems and socio-economic activities The assessment will cover the following elements: a) Estimate the type and volume of plastics that currently pollute coastal and marine ecosystems (including those from Abandoned, Lost, or Discarded Fishing Gear (ALDFG), ghost nets) i. The sources of the marine plastic including plastic items (consumer goods) and their quantum cla FUNDING SOURCE The World Bank Group intends to finance the assignment / services described below under the following:- BANK BUDGET- 2.2.-EG-Cleaner marine and coastal ecosystems in Egypt ELIGIBILITY Eligibility restrictions apply: [Please type list of restrictions] INDIVIDUAL / FIRM PROFILE The consultant will be a firm. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS The World Bank Group now invites eligible firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. for firms; CV and cover letter for individuals). Please note that the total size of all attachments should be less than 5MB. Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications. Interested firms are hereby invited to submit expressions of interest. Expressions of Interest should be submitted, in English, electronically through World Bank Group eConsultant2 (https://wbgeconsult2.worldbank.org/wbgec/index.html) NOTES Following this invitation for Expression of Interest, a shortlist of qualified firms will be formally invited to submit proposals. Shortlisting and selection will be subject to the availability of funding. Only those firms which have been shortlisted will receive notification. No debrief will be provided to firms which have not been shortlisted.   Qualification Criteria   1.  At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in environmental or natural resource analysis and/or environmental economics.
