The EEN project will aim at promoting business and innovation services of a transnational focus towards SMEs through an extended range of services and a strong interaction with the other members of the Business Support Network at European level and at local/regional innovation system level. The EEN-PORTUGAL will address the following strategic objectives: • To improve the innovation level and competitiveness of SMEs by assessing their business processes and promoting targeted innovation and business development services of a trans-national focus, suited to their needs and strategies. • To contribute to a wider internationalization of SMEs, through a strong promotion of EU initiatives and a broad range of networking, common activities and contacts within the Business Support Network. • To align EEN added values services with regional, national and European incentive schemes and strategies in order to facilitate selling of services and contribute towards the service self-sustainability. The partners intend to be a key part of the local innovation support ecosystems of their regions in what regards delivering value-added services on EU legislation, EU policies and programmes, including access to EU finance and innovation capacity, international commercial and tech partnering through European-level brokerage events and tools and finally a key communication channel for SMEs to express their opinions and problems to the European Commission. Our aim, by implementing the foreseen actions, is to enhance regional entrepreneurial capacity in terms of innovation and internationalization, leading to an increase of employment and companies’ turnover. To improve the match between the needs of the Portuguese companies and UE policies is also an aim, through the participation of PT SMEs in the European Policy Making Process. The EEN-PORTUGAL covers all the national territory and will implement action in all the Activities/Work Packages.
