Αντικείμενο του παρόντος διαγωνισμού είναι η παροχή υπηρεσιών έρευνας και ανάπτυξης με απόκτηση δικαιωμάτων χρήσης για δεκαπέντε (15) έτη ζευγών οπτικών ινών (ένα ζεύγος οπτικών ινών ανά διαδρομή), για τη διασύνδεση σε υπερυψηλές ταχύτητες με το καταλληλότερο σημείο παρουσίας του δικτύου Ε.Δ.Ε.Τ., των δημόσιων νοσοκομειακών μονάδων που φαίνονται στον πίνακα 4 και αφορούν στην Πράξη: «Παροχή προηγμένων δικτυακών - υπολογιστικών υπηρεσιών σε νοσοκομειακές μονάδες σε περιβάλλον υπολογιστικού νέφους, με στόχο την υποστήριξη του κλινικού έργου, την ενίσχυση της ερευνητικής τους δραστηριότητας και τη βελτίωση τής ανταγωνιστικότητας του τομέα υγείας».

Ειδικότερα, το αντικείμενο του διαγωνισμού αφορά στην παροχή υπηρεσιών με συμβάσεις τύπου IRU (Indefeasible Right of Use), που περιλαμβάνουν:

α) τις υπηρεσίες υλοποίησης συνδέσμων οπτικών ινών (κατά τους πρώτους 8 μήνες του έργου)·

β) την παραχώρηση του δικαιώματος χρήσης των συνδέσμων οπτικών ινών για δεκαπέντε (15) έτη, καθώς και

γ) τις υπηρεσίες συντήρησης των συνδέσμων οπτικών ινών για δεκαπέντε (15) έτη.
