Project Information: The work consists of Schedule No. 1 - dike raising of Mid Bay PA in Galveston Bay. Approximately 200,000 Cubic Yards of containment dike raising. Contractor should expect to use equipment with low ground pressure due to the soft/wet material in which the equipment will be operating. Contractor should observe conditions associated with Dredged Material Placement Areas. Conditions within the placement area are typically very wet.

Completion Time: Schedule No. 1 - 365 calendar days.

If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of $3,562.00 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted.

The contractor will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (3) calendar days after award. The contractor shall begin work within (5) calendar days after acknowledgement of the notice to Proceed.

The Solicitation issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.

The solicitation is advertised as "UNRESTRICTED-FULL & OPEN COMPETITION TO BOTH LARGE & SMALL BUSINESSES". The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this project is 237990. The Small Business Size Standard is $36.5 Million.

The solicitation will be issued on or about 25 July 2018. Response date is 27 August 2018 @ 2:00 PM (All bids must be submitted electronically via AMRDEC Safe). The estimated award date for this project is September 2018.

Subcontracting goals for the Galveston District are: 50.0% - Small Business; 17.0% - Small Disadvantaged Business; 18.0% - Woman-Owned Small Business; 10.0% - HubZone Small Business; 8.5% - Veteran-Owned Small Business and 4.0% - Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business.
