NatureScot (the operating name of Scottish Natural Heritage) require a ‘Beaver-proof Water Gate’ to be installed in the Meigle Burn, Perthshire, using the design and specification produced by Millards Engineering. Details of the secured Planning Consent (ref: 19/02114/FLL) can be viewed at: https://www.pkc.gov.uk/publicaccess
Additional sections of beaver-proof fence will then need to be constructed to then tie in the Gate with the sections of beaver-proof fence that are already installed on either side of the Burn.
In summary, the work undertaken will involve construction of concrete foundations and metal grill over a burn of approximately 2m width.
