 7.Contract description:

This contract will support Jamaica in attaining the millennium development goals (MDG) set by the United Nations for ‘reducing child mortality’ and ‘improving maternal health’. The contractor will be engaged in activities to ensure the successful implementation of all engineering works and associated services through the effective monitoring and supervision of such works in neonatal and obstetric high dependency units (HDU) in Mandeville Regional Hospital — Manchester (lot 1), Victoria Jubilee Hospital — Kingston (lot 2), Cornwall Regional Hospital — St James (lot 3), Spanish Town Hospital — St Catherine (lot 4), St Ann’s Bay Hospital — St Ann (lot 5) and Bustamante Hospital for Children — St Andrew (lot 6).
The contractor will be engaged in:
• preliminary services inclusive of review of the programmes of implementation of tasks and monitoring of the adherence to these programmes,
• establishment of a management information system,
• verification of quality and quantity of works performed and materials used,
• verification of measurements and issuance of interim payment certificates,
• providing advice on problems arising during the execution of the works,
• monitoring of the environment protection,
• analysis of claims submitted by the works contractor,
• coordination with stakeholders,
• services at provisional and final acceptance of the works.
 8.Indicative budget:

The tender is divided into 6 lots with the following maximum budgets applicable for each lot:
lot 1: 180 000 EUR;
lot 2: 200 000 EUR;
lot 3: 190 000 EUR;
lot 4: 190 000 EUR;
lot 5: 220 000 EUR;
lot 6: 180 000 EUR.

 11.Legal basis:

Annex IV to the Partnership Agreement between the members of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States of the one part, and the European Community and its Member States, of the other part, signed in Cotonou on 23.6.2000 as amended in Luxembourg on 25.6.2005 and in Ouagadougou on 22.6.2010. Reference is made to Annex IV as revised by Decision No 1/2014 of the ACP-EU Council of Ministers of 20.6.2014.
