Re- Advertisement IC - National Consultant/ Environment Expert with new deadline for  submission,  Monday 15th April 2019 (Those who have applied previously need not apply again)

Project Title: Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) project.

Seychelles is one of the pilot countries which started the Initiative since January 2014 and have completed the following milestones:

  • Biodiversity Finance Policy and Institutional Review (PIR). 
  • Biodiversity Expenditure Review (BER). 
  • Financial Needs Assessment (FNA). 
  • Biodiversity Finance Plan (BFP).
  • Implementation of Biodiversity Finance Solutions 

The Objectives of the BFU are:

  • The BFU will build upon the Biodiversity Finance Plan (BFP) in identifying biodiversity Finance Solutions which would generate revenues, realign expenditures (e.g. harmful subsidies), deliver better (e.g. group procurement) and avoid future expenditures (e.g. biosecurity measures).
  • Facilitate, coordinate and synergize ongoing national biodiversity initiatives/projects including those within the NBSAP.
  • Monitor and Evaluate NBSAP implementation.
  •  Mainstream biodiversity into the economic planning and budgetary processes.
  • Increase national capacity to develop biodiversity centric project proposals
  • Facilitate resource mobilization for biodiversity projects particularly NBSAP projects.
  • Assist with reporting to CBD.

Duration of the contract: 50 days over 2 and a half months (Updated)
