UNDP Vietnam is seeking for a national Firm/Institution/Organization to review, supplement and update Community based disaster risk management (CBDRM) data collected in 2018 for 100 communes for Green Climate Fund project (GCF).

Component 3 of the project aims to support the improvement of policies and practices through the design of tailored products that will integrate climate and disaster data to inform disaster- and climate-resilient planning. Under Component 3, the GCF project aims to organize community-based disaster risk management and assessment (CBDRM/A) classes in 520 communes in 7 coastal provinces, as well as expand training and capacity building, update disaster risk data, and share climate and disaster risk information to the 28 coastal provinces of Viet Nam for national level disaster management and climate change adaptation.

From 2018-2020, 373 training courses on CBDRM were organized and CBDRA reports were developed for each as inputs for the development of communal DRM plans and socioeconomic development plans (SEDPs). To facilitate CBDRM training, in 2019, the GCF CPMU developed CBDRM software for enabling data input and generating CBDRA reports. However, the data collected from CBDRM/A training in 2018 for 100 communes was not standardized compared to data collected from 2019 onwards. A revision and update of data from 2018 is required to synchronize it with the GCF project’s CBDRM software. 

In order to unify the disaster risk information system, the GCF project team plans to recruit an experienced consultancy firm to update the 100 CBDRA reports from 2018, thereby addressing the need for improvement in national disaster risk information system.
