Tender Details

The Opera House is seeking proposals from suitably experienced, competent and skilled hospitality operators who would like the opportunity to supply food and beverage services for a short term period at the Lower Concourse Eatery (currently trading as Opera Kitchen).

The desired outcomes and Operator requirements are set out in the Request for Tender and reflect the importance of ensuring that food and beverage services provided at the Opera House live up to the promise of the building. This will be particularly important as the Opera House, Sydney and Australia seek to recover from recent COVID-19 pandemic-related closures and other restrictions.

The Respondent should address the opportunities and challenges for the Lower Concourse Eatery in developing a proposal that will:

  • Create a vibrant short-term conceptthat establishes the venue as a destination in its own right and complements the other well-regarded food and beverage venues on site;
  • Use the Existing Fit-out, with minimal or no capital investment, allowing for quick mobilisation of the venue; and
  • Capitalise on the Opera House’s location and reputation, as well as its focus on reinvigorating the Precinct and welcoming customers back on site, including through its extensive social media community.
