The Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science within Swansea University does not have the economic funding to purchase a completely new system already set up with the mobile facility, capability of recording visual and audio at six stations, audio visual equipment needed to support AWEN’s VR suite or the additional speakers required to support the SIM Centre.
The current LearningSpace system is already embedded within the IT infrastructure of the College, where staff are already familiar with its operation, having received training and hands-on experience since its 2019 purchase.
Any newly procured system would need significant time resources from central and College technical staff on integrating with the University’s IT infrastructure and ensuring compatibility with the LearningSpace system already in place.
