United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) hereby invite qualified companies to submit sealed tenders as follows:
This request for proposal aims to assist the Skills and Technical Education Programme (STEP) in Malawi to: 1) develop a continuous professional training (CPT) strategy for TEVET instructors in Malawi; 2) provide institutional support needed to enable selected institution(s) to deliver CPT including bridging programmes; and 3) establish a system to monitor the effects of CPT.
- Examine the TEVET training system in Malawi to ensure the proposed Continuous Professional Development Strategy is viable and sustainable: a. Examine relevant background documents (including those to be provided by the STEP team);b.Clarify scale and variety of training needs of teachers, instructors and trainers in the TEVET system including the need for bridging programmes;c.Identify potential local partner institution(s) to implement the CPT strategy and bridging programmes.
- Based on the initial research, prepare:
a.an overarching continuous professional development strategy that references both pre-service and in-service training of TEVET instructors, teachers and trainers, ensuring a focus on women and persons with disabilities;
b.a development plan for institutional support required to meet the needs for academic and skills training for TEVET teachers, instructors and trainers;
c.a development and delivery plan for providing bridging programmes in science and mathematics and other areas of STEM as deemed necessary;
d.a plan for a system to monitor and evaluate CPT activities.
3.Negotiate and sign a memorandum of understanding with institution(s) to provide CPT services and/or bridging programmes ensuring upgraded instructors receive necessary certification.
4.Provide support to the institution(s) delivering the continuous professional training programmes including bridging programmes.
5.Prepare required reports.
