Nesjavellir Geothermal Power Plant - Control System Update
The Works of the ONIK-2021-02 constitute of a complete Control System Upgrade (CSU) in Nesjavellir power plant.
The existing control system was installed from 1990 – 2004. There have been some upgrades of the originally PLC´s in the meantime but overall, the control system has reached the end of its lifetime.
Nesjavellir power plant is a geothermal powerplant in south-west of Iceland, including electrical generating units, hot and cold-water production and auxiliary systems. The power production is divided into 120 MWe of electrical power and 300 MWt of thermal energy.
The Works includes complete design, manufacture, shop assembly and test, delivery, installation, field testing and commissioning of new Distributed Control System (DCS). The control systems shall be complete with accessories and all necessary associated equipment for making the control systems complete and for warranting a reliable, trouble free and safe operation.
