Reproduction of textile in a tapestry
The city hall's administration service invite tenderers to a restricted tender contest for the reproduction of textile in a tapestry - cushion cover the hall in the city hall. After reviewing the requests for participation, the contracting authority will invite the five tenderers who best fulfil the qualification requirements to submit tenders. The textile from 1950 has reached the end of its lifetime, and the city hall's administration service would like the textile to be reproduced by hand, as close to the original as possible. The designer, Else Poulsson designed it specially for the hall in the city hall, and it was crafted by Den norske Husflidsforening in the period 1949-1950. The textiles, which are called 'Hyndetrekk', consist of 20 cushion covers and 40 covers for the backs of chairs. This makes up approx. 50 m2 textile.
Oslo
13 seat cushions are to be hand woven with a dark base and 7 with a white base. These figures are 26 + 14 for the covers for the backs of chairs. Tapestry techniques will be used for this material. The pattern has a good ornamental effect. The city hall's administration service carried out a preliminary project in 2020 for the reconstruction of Else Poulsson's original textile. The preliminary project was carried out by the textile artist Kristin Sæterdal. The report from the preliminary project is in the attachment.
Based on the preliminary project, the contracting authority has procured the weaving yarn in 2021, artistic weaving yarn from Spinnerigården. The yarn will be made available for test weaving for qualified tenderers who are invited to participate. Tenderers will have good time to familiarise themselves with the yarn and the pattern. The wrap yarn in the assignment will be Bocken's linvarp no. 8/4, unbleached. Wrap yarn will also be given out for test weaving.
