The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) invites suitably qualified firms to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming competitive bidding exercise for provision of international courier services to the United Nations office at Nairobi (UNON) and participating UN Agencies. UNON is currently coordinating International Courier services for various UN Agencies based in Nairobi by facilitating direct courier service to UN offices in New York, Geneva, Vienna, Rome, Athens, Cairo, Beirut, Addis Ababa, Bangkok, Montreal, Manama, Paris and various UNEP and UNHABITAT Regional Offices and UNDP Field Offices in Africa. UNON also receives mail and packages from those offices on a frequent basis. The contractor should possess the necessary facilities, corporate governance policies, qualified management team and staff should be ready and able to perform the desired services under the terms and conditions as set forth hereunder. The expertise of the firm shall include but not limited to the following key areas: 1. Provide international courier services to non-embargoed countries only on a daily basis using economical, reliable and efficient routes and shall at all times follow the instructions given by UNON. 2. Collect and dispatch all outgoing mail and packages to the respective destination(s) on the same day they are picked up. 3. Provide online tracking and delivery details through the internet for each consignment. 4. Provide supervisory personnel at all times to ensure the smooth movement of shipments. 5. Deliver the mail and packages intact and sealed to the respective airlines. 6. Provide freight forwarding services with efficiency to avoid any custom delays at final destinations. etc. The contract is anticipated to be awarded for an initial period of three (3) years with the option to extend for additional two years.
