Assignment Description   The objective of the assignment is to develop an understanding of the decision-making process of formal and informal trucking operators in India, in order to map the challenges to the sector modernization and develop a roadmap of policy interventions to incentivize the transformation and decarbonization of the sector. To this end, the study will: (a) assemble qualitative and quantitative evidence, including operator surveys and interviewers, of the main drivers of operations and decision-making in the formal and informal trucking industry in India; (b) map the challenges, barriers, and incentives that prevent the modernization of the trucking operators; (c) develop a framework capturing the drivers of operators decision-making, and how these decisions are affected by various regulatory interventions, policies, access to finance and others; (d) develop an analytical model to test key policy interventions toward maximizing their impact on logistics efficiency and GHG emissions; and (e) identify policy and technology priorities to enhance trucking efficiency and sustainability in India, and propose an action plan to deploy the solutions.   Qualification Criteria   1.  Provide information showing that they are qualified in the field of the assignment. 2.  Provide information on the technical and managerial capabilities of the firm. 3.  Provide information on the qualifications of key staff. *- Mandatory   selection #  1276229   Electronic Submissions through World Bank Group eConsultant2 https://wbgeconsult2.worldbank.org/wbgec/index.html   This is an announcement from the World Bank's e-Consultant2 system.
